Company description: This world class established manufacturer is looking for a Full Time Welder Fitter with a minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience to work in a pressure vessel custom manufacturing shop. Location of Work: Walkerton, Ontario Title of Position: Welder fitter Language: English Vacancies: 1 Type of Position: Permanent, full time Job Duties: · Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications · Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as MIG, TIG and Flux-Core · Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment · Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines · Determine weldability of materials · Operate hoisting and lifting equipment · Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products · Previous fitting experience · Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: · Fast-paced environment · Physically demanding, · Manual dexterity · Attention to detail · Hand-eye coordination · Standing for extended periods Skills, Experience and Education Required: · Completion of Secondary School or Equivalent experience · Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in a pressure vessel custom manufacturing shop · Experience in pressure vessel and TIG (aluminum and stainless steel) · Experience in welding techniques such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), fusion welds, multipass, resistance, spot or seam
Wage: $27 per hour Hours: · Number of hours per day: 8 hours · Number of days per week: 5 days · Number of hours per week: 40 Hours per week
