Position: Long-Hole Driller
Location: Northern Ontario
About the Role
The Long-Hole Driller is responsible for operating mechanized long-hole drilling equipment to drill blast holes according to engineering specifications, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety in underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mechanized long-hole drilling equipment to drill blast holes to engineering specifications
Read and interpret drill plans, layouts, and geological maps
Ensure drill patterns, hole angles, and depths are completed safely and accurately
Perform routine maintenance checks and assist with minor equipment repairs as required
Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and company standards
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in long-hole drilling within an underground mining environment
Experience with mechanized drilling systems and hydraulic drilling rigs
Strong knowledge of underground mine safety practices and regulations
Ability to work independently in remote and physically demanding conditions
Red Seal Certification considered an asset
Compensation
Hourly Rate: CAD $28 – $36, based on experience and qualifications
Additional premiums may apply for underground and night shift work
