Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Underground

Work location: Canada

Wage: From $35 to $45 hourly 

Job duties: 

• Repair, clean, lubricate, and maintain mine equipment in compliance with workplace safety standards. Including, but not limited to Jumbos, Scoops (Sandvik, Atlas Copco)

  • Scalers
  • Continuous Miners
  • Shuttle Cars
  • Rock Trucks
  • Raise Boring Machines
  • Longwall Shearers
  • Ventilation Equipment
  • Explosive Handling Equipment
• Read, understand, and interpret prints as well as electrical schematics. 
• Troubleshoot equipment for optimal performance, uncover faults and identify hazards and defects.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools

Skills, experience and education required:

• College diploma or equivalent experience
• Over 5 years of experience
• Previous experience in diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment in an underground mining environment would be considered an asset.
• Intermediate Level of English

Schedule

• Shift work: 7/7 – 7 days on, 7 days off
