Job title: Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic
Work location: Canada
Wage: $36 to $39 per hour
Job Duties :
Provide exceptional service and technical expertise within the shop to ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Follow strict safety, environmental, and health regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
Diagnose mechanical issues using Caterpillar testing equipment and other diagnostic tools to identify necessary repairs.
Perform high-quality repairs and maintenance on Caterpillar equipment within established time standards in the shop.
Accurately document service and repair work, ensuring all reports are completed in a timely and detailed manner.
Maintain clear and professional communication with supervisors, team members, and customers when required to provide updates on repairs and service timelines.
Skills, experience and education required:
At least 5 years of experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop.
College diploma or equivalent technical experience.
A basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication.
Able to read and understand prints, drawings, and technical bulletins.
Analytical with knowledge of mechanics in electrical and hydraulic systems.
Customer centric with excellent relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to complete repairs/service within established time guidelines in a busy, fast-paced environment where priorities are constantly changing.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS is mandatory).
