Job Title:

Conveyor Belt Technician

Work Location:

Ontario and Saskatchewan

Job Duties:

  • Install, repair, and maintain conveyor belts and conveyor systems.
  • Perform basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, and customers to ensure high-quality maintenance services.
  • Handle customer concerns on-site and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Identify conveyor system components and perform basic splices, belt cleaning, and pulley lagging.
  • Disassemble conveyor systems to access and perform splicing tasks.
  • Load trucks with tools, materials, and equipment for conveyor belt installations and maintenance.
  • Perform mechanical, step, and finger splices using hot or cold repair procedures.
  • Assemble and dismantle cleaner systems and activate/deactivate cleaners.
  • Perform pulley lagging, applying adhesives and primers as needed.
  • Complete buffing, trimming, and sealing of belts.
  • Accurately complete and submit required paperwork on time.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Properly use and safely handle tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Participate in training programs, including the Apprenticeship Program, to enhance skills.
  • Report any faulty parts or equipment to the Service Supervisor/Shop Foreman.
  • Assist in training and mentoring apprentices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (in the shop or on-site).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Experience: Preferably 2 years of hands-on mechanical work experience, ideally in a related industry or a business with a 24/7 service component.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract.
