Heavy Equipment Mechanic Location of Work: Canada Language: English Type of Position: Permanent, full time Wage & Hours: $30.00 – $42.00 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble heavy equipment and prepare for delivery.
Check equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
Test repaired equipment.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Disassemble and reassemble diesel and gas engines as well as transmissions and differentials.
Keep track of work performed with accurate records.
Abide by safety policies and procedures.
Read hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic diagrams.
REQUIREMENTS:
+5 years of experience working on heavy equipment for construction, mining or agricultural equipment is mandatory.
Secondary school and a craft certificate are mandatory.
Basic computer skills.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools.
Able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Great accuracy and manual dexterity.
