Our client is a proud Canadian based company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial road and bridge maintenance contractor. They currently have an opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join their mechanical team as 310T Certified Technicians for a couple of their divisions in Ontario.
Job Duties:
Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems;
Locate faults and malfunctions on equipment and truck and trailers in the shop and field calls when required;
Inspect, repair maintain the fleet of equipment including electrical and electronic systems, engine including fuel exhaust, intake and emission controls, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts and axles, Body and trim;
Maintain hitching/coupling systems; Steering, suspension and computer control systems, tires, wheels and hubs, braking systems including air supply and hydraulic, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems;
Install, adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems;
Perform preventive maintenance work.
Skills, Experience and Education Required:
At least 5 years of experience in Mine and heavy industries;
Licensed Truck & Coach Mechanic (310T);
Ontario testing to gain 310T accreditation within 6 months
Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence;
Knowledge and experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs;
Knowledge and experience in computer diagnostics and electrical components;
Knowledge and experience in heavy equipment hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, suspension, and steering;
Knowledge and experience in CAN BUS considered an asset;
Knowledge and experience in fabrication and welding considered an asset;
Good knowledge of trade related worksite safety;
Experience on industry related heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks, plow trucks, winter maintenance attachments, loaders, grader, sweepers, mowers, backhoes, etc.
