Key Responsibilities
The Senior Mining Engineer – Planning will:

  •  Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans
  • Support the preparation and optimization of Life of Mine (LOM) plans, including sequencing and stope design
  • Monitor plan performance and conduct reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking activities
  • Identify production constraints and recommend practical, data-driven solutions
  • Collaborate closely with operations, geology, and technical services teams to ensure effective plan execution
  • Evaluate underground infrastructure capacity, including ventilation, dewatering, and electrical systems
  • Maintain and update planning models, schedules, and databases
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and EITs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in mine planning processes and tools

 
Qualifications

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • 5 years of underground mining experience, with a strong focus on mine planning
  • Solid experience in short- and medium-term planning, with exposure to LOM planning considered an asset
  • Experience supporting budgeting and cost analysis in a mining environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, MinePlan, Vulcan, Datamine, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • P.Eng. or eligibility for registration is preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 (adjustable based on experience)
  • Pension / RRSP
  • Vacation: 3 weeks
