General Supervisor – Ground Control

About the Opportunity
A leading Canadian gold mining company is seeking a General Supervisor – Ground Control to support underground operations at the Macassa Mine.
This role is critical in ensuring safe and effective ground control practices, supporting technical teams, and driving geotechnical excellence across operations.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, the General Supervisor – Ground Control will:
* Lead and oversee ground control programs and practices
* Review geotechnical monitoring, modelling, and support systems
* Identify gaps and implement improvement initiatives
* Support long-term mine planning (LOMP, 5-year plans, budgets)
* Collaborate with site teams to enhance geotechnical performance
* Mentor and develop technical personnel in ground control practices
Qualifications
* Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
* Registered or eligible for P.Eng. in Ontario
* 10+ years of underground ground control experience
* 4+ years in a supervisory role
* Experience in deep underground mining environments
* Strong knowledge of rock mass characterization and geotechnical analysis
* Experience with mine design and ground control software (e.g., Deswik)
Compensation & Benefits
*Salary: $130,000 – $175,000
*Bonus: 20% target incentive
*Pension / RRSP: 6% employer contribution + 3% match
*Vacation: 3 weeks
