Mine Engineer – Underground Mining

Salary: CAD $90,000 – $135,000 per year

Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, this role supports underground mining operations through planning, design, and coordination with site teams. You will be involved in a range of engineering activities, contributing to both daily production and ongoing improvement initiatives.
This position requires strong collaboration with operations, geology, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and practical execution of mine plans.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop short-term mine plans covering production, lateral development, ventilation, and paste fill
-Support drill and blast design and identify opportunities for improvement
-Work closely with operations, geology, and contractors to develop practical and achievable mining plans
-Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules
-Assist with engineering projects, including dewatering and design updates
-Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance
-Provide guidance and support to EITs and junior team members
-Communicate regularly with site teams to ensure alignment between plans and operational needs
Qualifications & Experience
-Degree in Mining Engineering
-P.Eng. designation or eligibility to obtain registration in Canada
-5–10 years of underground mining experience
-Experience with Deswik, Excel, or similar mine planning tools
-Underground Common Core certification is an asset
-Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
-Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
-Comfortable working independently while remaining aligned with team objectives
