Paste Fill Engineer – Underground Mining

Salary: CAD $90,000 – $140,000 per year

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paste Fill Engineer to support underground mine planning with a focus on paste fill coordination and short-term scheduling. This role involves close collaboration with operations, geology, and contractors to ensure plans are practical, aligned, and executed safely.
You will also lead a team of technicians supporting paste fill operations, field coordination, and day-to-day execution of underground plans.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop short-term mine plans covering production, lateral development, ventilation, and paste fill
-Prepare and update weekly and monthly mine plans
-Design and support drill and blast activities
-Collaborate with production, geology, and contractors to develop practical and achievable dig plans
-Support paste fill planning and ensure alignment with production schedules
-Assist with improvement initiatives, including blast optimization and operational efficiencies
-Contribute to design updates and ongoing engineering projects, including dewatering
-Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers (EITs)
Qualifications & Experience
-Degree in Mining Engineering
-P.Eng. designation or eligibility to obtain registration in Canada
-5–10 years of underground mining experience
-Experience with Deswik, Excel, or similar mine planning tools
-Underground Common Core is an asset
-Strong coordination and communication skills across operations and technical teams
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision
